Valentines is just around the corner and so is the need to come up with something interesting to give your mom, grandma, sister or that special someone you have been thinking about for a while. Today we are gonna learn how to make an origami heart.
In this tutorial we’ll use standard size 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper. There are many different kinds of origami paper – solid color, metallic, tie-dye, floral, geometric, stripe, foil, washi, chiyogami, etc. Sometimes the paper you use can really change the look of the finished origami. So if you can, do try the various types of paper available and have fun with it!
Instructions:
| 1: Start with a square 6″ x 6″ (15cm x 15cm) origami paper color side down. |

| 2: Fold it in half. |
 |
| 3: Open it back up. |
 |
| 4: Now fold the other side in half and open it back up so that you have 2 creases on the origami paper like so. |
 |
| 5: Now fold the top point of the paper to meet the crease in the centerp. |
 |
| 6: Fold the bottom point to meet the top. |
 |
| 7: Fold the right side to meet the crease in the center. |
 |
| 8: Fold the left side to meet the crease in the center and you should get this. |
 |
| 9: Flip the paper over to the opposite side. |
 |
| 10: Now you will make a fold on the right side along the dash lines. |
 |
 |
| 11: Fold the left side now. |
 |
| 12: Now you will fold the top points along the dash lines. |
 |
 |
| 13: Flip the paper over and voila! You’ve got yourself an origami heart! |

| You can write a cute message on the heart and give it to the one you love. Happy Valentines! |
