There are many different types of games to play with dominos. I have adapted the most common domino game, The Draw Domino Game, which will work great with my printed dominos.
But this game is smaller than a traditional dominos game (since it’s intended for children). It is also a lot easier and faster (since kids have a much shorter attention span).
Instuctions:
1. Shuffle all the dominos and place them face down on the table.
2. The game can be played with 2 up to 4 players. Each player gets from 3 to 4 dominos (depending on the number of players, in a traditional dominos game each player gets 7). The rest of the dominons are put aside in a pile-boneyard. Once delt, don’t let the other players see your dominos.
3. The youngest player should go first by laying any domino on the table. In the typical game the player with a smallest double (one with the same image in both squares) starts the game.
4. The next player should try to lay a domino on the table with an image that matches what’s already there. If a player cannot make a match, he/she must draw from the boneyard until a domino that can be played is drawn.
5. Continue taking turns laying dominos or picking from the pile until someone wins.
6. The first player to get rid of all his dominos wins the game.
7. If none of the players can make a match, the hand or game ends in a block.
8. In the case of a block, the players turn the dominos in their hands face up for counting. The player with the lowest total wins the game.
9. If the game is played a few turns in a row, then the total result can be counted by the number of the games won by each player or by adding the numbers that are displayed on the dominos left in hand of each player after each game is over.
This game will teach young children how to play in a team. It will also teach them concentration, logical thinking, and the ability to analyze the situation.
